Don't be afraid to a cappella Uprising either.
For the record, Let's Go Aztecs 5 clap always travels the best around the arena so that's why it never bugged me to much when it was used most. It is the loudest offensive chant. It's hard to think up anthems out of thin air a la Uprising. Only advice is don't be afraid of failure. When Sitek thought up Uprising it took a few repetitions to get everyone on board and then it was instant gold. You guys are sensible and have a feel so if you like an idea go for it!

Uprising was played at the worst possible time last night. Personally it's my favorite and I know a lot of people get pumped when it occurs. The band started it right before a Rahon FT, and we were literally yelling WE WILL BE VICTOOOORIOUS as he was shooting his first... The second time wasn't band supported and was drowned out by the PA. It's usually better timed, but I really think it should be utilized at least once in the first half and once in the second during opposing time-outs. There were several miscues of this manner during the game. Realistically, no one had their 'A' game on Wednesday. I think the WOOOOO video with Ric Flair was played going into a free throw as well. And there were several opportunities where a hype song could be played (either PA or Band) to get the crowd back into the game, especially as we approached halftime, that were missed.

Don't know if this would be one of those things that's over the line (which is why they made us stop doing it), but WAY back in the Sports Arena days, before some of y'all were even born, we used to do a PULL YOUR HEAD OUT, REF to the tune of Hold Your Head Up High (0:54) www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-6v4H4BtWIThere were several times in the Creighton game this would have been applicable.

i was thinking... not sure if it can happen since not a lot of people know what to do with the heads to begin with... (other than put them up during timeouts to get themselves on the big screen) but i heard somewhere that its more difficult for players to shoot free throws if the background is a fluid motion, so... maybe we could do the "woahhh" chant with the heads just to see how that works out instead of just everyone doing random stuff with them.

What if we combine the faces with what we do in the first half, where we chant directions. For example, chant right and have every face moving to the right at the same time.

I even mentioned that on Wednesday night. You could do the whoaaaa or up and down, or have it going left left left and then right before he shoots, everyone swing it to the right and yell.

And now, the WIZARDLY PUNDITS at ECSPN have some "Science" for us. I agree with the video. That said, I think part of the free throw yelling is about getting into a player's head. Same as yelling air-ball. You are looking for the mentally weak players and trying to frustrate them into future mistakes. The less they are focused on being in the zone and playing the game and the more they are focused on things they are doing wrong or what the fans are yelling, the worse off they will be. This makes them vulnerable to having the ball stolen, getting beat on defense and even just random stupid turnovers like dribbling the ball off his foot. This doesn't even mention the possibility that they go apeshit and give a hard foul or throw a punch and get ejected.

Most of the chants, my group can pick up from where we sit. The one we can't hear well is the one when the other team fouls......There is a count, somthing, and then hahahaha...
I wish the chants could go up on the scoreboard .....then everyone could do them...
But if you post them all here, we can get them.
Thanks and glad I found this site. It will make the season way more fun.

Here are a couple I would love the Show to do: The "can anyone find the keys to the bus" one is pretty good. The PA announcer asks that and then the crowd takes out their keys and shakes them. When someone travels you go UH OH...YOU FORGOT TO DRIBBLE Or on a turnover one person yells...WHICH WAYS IT GOING...and the rest of the crowd goes THAT WAY and points..than the guy goes again...WHICH WAY...than you all say THAT WAY again and point.. after a bad call: "Nuts and bolts, nuts and bolts, we got screwed!" -do the woosh after free throws and all yell 3 after a 3-pointer Winning, Losing www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARpzavb7PQk&feature=related

We can definitely explore options for different situations, but I'm really comfortable with what we have. 1. Winning Team losing team isn't going to happen. Our position on the court makes it damn near impossible. 2. We already have a traveling chant. "You walked. You traveled. You took too many steps. That's right you walked." 3. Already have a turnover chant. The drummer in the band plays and then we all woo. 4. We've been trying a variety of different bad call chants. Still experimenting there. 5. We already have a free throw chant. "Aztecs, give 'em hell state WOO" 6. Three pointers we all just start yelling and screaming so chants would be meaningless there. Thank you for the suggestions though.

This is not chant related but I noticed today that during day games the sun comes in pretty bright through the concourse doors on the south (home) side (baseline).
I'd think there is someway that could be leveraged during free throws during the first half. perhaps 5-6 people who happen to go through the doors as the shooter starts his motion.
Obviously it can't seem intentional, it wouldn't take 3-4 times before players complained and the whole operation got shut down. Still, if you keep it in your pocket for big games *cough*UNLV*cough* it could swing a couple of points in our favor.

Hey guys, proud alumni and huge fan of the Show. Might I make one suggestion if I could? Somebody in another thread came up with a great idea to borrow a chant from the US Mens National Team where they chant Timmmmmmy Howard, clap clap clap clap! every time he makes a great save. Ever thought about doing this for a big offensive or defensive play i.e. Chase Tapley's absolutely amazing 1v3 steal and then drive for a layup during the Cal game? I think it would be awesome!
